In a unexpected collaboration that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine group.
The mission centers on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana together with several items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
